Why custom?
If you are looking for a high-quality fireplace surround, and need a specific look or dimension, you won’t find that on the shelf at Ikea. If you need a unique table to fit perfectly in that oddly spaced nook, you won’t likely find that at a chain furniture store.
Most store bought items are mass produced to basic sizes and with limited options, and they don't necessarily have the individual consumer in mind.
Now, if your budget is for an IKEA-type piece of furniture, I can’t compete with that. Large furniture companies sacrifice material quality for reduced shipping weight.
I design, build, and deliver locally with materials that are carefully selected to meet client specifications. High quality materials are generally not what make custom furniture expensive - it is the labor.
“The furniture we adorn our homes with provides utility, order, comfort, and pleasure. From boxes and drawers that organize, to serving and dining décor that enrich our entertainment activities. At the end of a long day, furniture has the ability to support our bodies and absorb the stresses of life. It is a maker’s duty to understand this relationship between humans and furniture so that each creation is able to provide an increased quality of life.”
“Every piece must treated with the utmost attention to detail. The maker must proudly stand by every piece so that it is enjoyed to the fullest extent possible.”
